Adult retreats – what and why?

Over the past 11 years living in the High Tatras, I’ve noticed something: many adults here have a solid foundation in English but rarely get the chance to practice it in real-life situations. My retreats are designed to fill that gap.

These aren’t about workbooks or written exercises—they’re about real immersion. You’ll spend the day speaking English with a native Canadian teacher, copying pronunciation, tone, and cadence, learning vocabulary naturally through conversation and everyday activities.

Mornings are filled with discussions, exercises, and hands-on activities in English. Afternoons are spent exploring the mountains, hiking and enjoying nature, while continuing to immerse yourself in the language. Along the way, you’ll meet like-minded people, discover new ways to use English in everyday life, and experience a new culture—all in a relaxed, supportive environment.

By the end of the day, you’ll leave not just having practiced English, but having lived it.

Why work with me

I am a native English speaker from Canada with over 11 years of teaching experience. I hold a university degree in Allied Health Therapeutic Studies and am Cambridge CELTA-certified. I specialize in creating dynamic, engaging lessons that prioritize SPEAKING — for adults, children, and company employees. In Slovakia, opportunities to practice real conversation can be limited, so I create a space where students can speak freely and confidently. Grammar is important, but SPEAKING is essential in today’s world.
